| .. XHOW PRE- & PERINATAL XPSYCHOLOGY |
| .
ARE RELATED TO. EMOTIONAL SHOCK & TRAUMA.. . |
| Some people have commented
that they get confused because Pre- and Perinatal Psychology (PPP) seems
to be almost interchangeable with Emotional Shock and Trauma (EST). Here's
a brief explanation.
. Pre- and perinatal psychology is a larger subject area than emotional shock and trauma - although PPP includes EST. PPP includes the exquisite sensitivity and perceptiveness of the prenate and newborn, conscious conception, non-interventionist birthing practices, aware parenting, research and much more. . It is important to note that most emotional shock is is rooted in experiences prior to and around the time of birth; therefore, to speak of emotional shock is to be in the realm of pre- and perinatal psychology. Therefore, when we speak of EST, we are talking about events which occur before and around birth. X
